Weekend recap, chair make over & H’s suit!

This weekend was good.

We spent Saturday doing this.

Clearly that is not a real before picture.  Because apparently I forgot to take one!  So that was the closest picture I could find online that looked very similar to what the chair looked like before.  The chair was free and the red paint was $5.

I plan on using it when I do photo sessions!  I think it would look really cute.

Saturday night we hung out at home and watched movies.

Sunday we went shopping!  And H found himself a suit.  We went to a bunch of different stores and we were having a hard time finding a suite for under $400.  Our last stop was Sears.  We found one, he tried it on and he loved it.  And he looks GREAT in it!

It was regularly $190 and we got it on sale for $110!  We also picked up a silver tie for $12.  Which is what he’s wearing for the wedding.  He also found another shirt on sale for $10 (regularly $29) and a black tie for $9.  Which he is going to wear when we go on the cruise.

Total spent at Sears: $141.00

I love finding sales like that.

Monday we drove to the Passport Canada office in Surrey to apply for our passports.  Unfortunately they wouldn’t accept H’s birth certificate, so H needs to get a new one before he can apply for his passport.  The ink on H’s birth certificate was smudged and they claim they couldn’t read the numbers.  Ah well, not a big deal.  We have plenty of time before the honeymoon to get his.

On Monday we also were able to watch the Olympic Torch pass through Langley while we were there.  That was really great to see as well.

We still never made it to Avatar.  But we will probably go out next week to celebrate Valentines Day and watch it in the Imax!

Sounds like a fun weekend! I saw the torch once when I was a kid, and it was a lot of fun to watch it pass through.

Great job on the chair!

I clicked on the picture before i saw that they were different chairs and I thought you did some major renos on it too! A rocker to a legged chair, and armrests to none! Lol, red looks really good. Awesome deal on the suit too, it does look very nice!

Love the chair! I think I need a slipcover for our old recliner — our younger cat has taken to using it as a scratching post. Very cool to see the Olympic torch being passed, too!

Good deal on the suit! And I am totally digging that red chair. :)

LOVE the chair! I’m dying to take on some projects like that, but the idea of painting over wood freaks Jason out. He feels like it’s disrespectful to the wood (or something…) I have big plans for taking my old, torn up dresser, sanding it down, and painting it a punchy color, though. Like lime green! :-)

Was just wondering what are you doin in terms of bridesmaid or best man? Or are you just having a witness?

We are having a SUPER small ceremony. I am talkin' only us and our parents! Our dad's are signing as witnesses :)
