Easy Baking Ideas for the holidays!

Homemade baked goods make great gifts!  They’re thoughtful, inexpensive and tasty!  Does it get any better?

Here are some easy baking ideas / recipes that you can use over the holidays!

Cupcakes

cupcakes!

I posted a recipe for these cupcakes before.  I just found some Christmas tray liners ($2.00) and sprinkles ($2.79) at Superstore.

Candy Cane Bark

If you are not confident in your baking abilities, but still want to give away some homemade goods – this recipe is for you!  It is so easy and it tastes so good.

What you’ll need…

  • White chocolate (I purchased from the bulk section of Superstore)
  • Candy canes

What you’ll need to do…

  • In a saucepan heat white chocolate until it’s completely melted.
  • Unwrap candy canes and place into plastic bag.  And then… smash!  Smash them into tiny pieces.
  • Once white chocolate is melted, pour most of the candy cane pieces into melted chocolate and stir.
  • Pour mixture into a flat pan of your choice, depending on thin/thick you want it.
  • Sprinkle more candy cane across the top and place into fridge to cool.
  • Once mixture is hard, break into pieces and devour! ;)

Easy peasy.

  • 1 c chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Preheat Oven: 350 degrees
  • Mix ingredients in order

mmmm rice krispies! I was going to try a few fancy things this year but 1) it’s my first year doing my own baking 2) I want to keep my costs low and 3) I LOVE rice krispies! Thanks for the inspiration! They are going on my list and I will take something pricier/more complicated off.

Last year Christmas Rice Krispies came with a Christmas shaped cookie cutter in them too, so it was fun to make Rice Krispie squares in Christmas shapes! Although regular cookie cutters would work too!
