Wedding Fund Increase and Christmas time hours

Today I transferred $540 to our wedding fund!!  Woo!

That brings our total to: $2,715.  Which means we’re almost half way there!  My goal is to save another $500 this month for our wedding.

In the beginning of the month H was told that he would be getting 1 week off around Christmas, unpaid!  For us, this wasn’t good news.  That’s a lot of missed hours and money.  Yesterday the owner decided to change things and now they are getting Christmas Eve and Christmas day off.  A lot of his co-workers were upset that they don’t get more time off over the holidays, but we’re much happier about the change!

As for the paper route, we are getting both Christmas day and News Years day off.  Which is perfect for us, I just hope we don’t spend those days sleeping!  ;)

What about you, how much time off are you getting this Christmas season?

What a nice big deposit! You guys are going to hit that goal in no time.

That’s great. You’re almost there.
I only have the 25th and 28th (for Boxing Day) off. It’s going to be SO quiet in the office. There’s just gonna be a skeleton crew of 3-4 people (including me.)

I am only getting half days for both eve’s and then the whole day on Christmas and New Years. I thought about taking some vacation and working on my paper in between there…but I would rather save the vaca time!

I am self-employed and don’t have much on the go right now, so I am going to try and take a whole two weeks off (starting next Monday until the Monday after New Year’s). My office is already closed between Christmas and New Year’s so I’m really only taking a couple extra days.

I took off the 24th, getting the 25th, but have to work 10 hours on the 26th because of our accelerated production schedule. Boo!

Our office is closing at noon on Christmas eve. So I’ll return to work on January 4th. It’s only four days that I’ll be taking off (paid vacation days) but it gives me 10 days straight off.

Well done, you guys are cranking on that wedding fund!

I have Christmas and Boxing Day off, then 4-5 days off for New Years. I didn’t realise quite how much time I had off – trying to work out what to do! I don’t wanna spend it all sitting at home. Need to come up with a plan!

We get to leave work at 1pm on the 24th and we’re closed through to the 29th (yahoo!). It’s going to be SO nice…

Great boost to your wedding fund!

We finish an hour early Christmas eve (4pm), get Friday & Monday off, work the 29th, 30th, 31st (finish at 4 pm too), off January 1st and I go in January 2nd from 8-10:45.

Not bad, that 4 day stretch at Christmas is going to be very nice!

I too get half days off on the Eves, and then the stats (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day). We took a trip in Nov so I had zero vacation days left so, like Asian Pear, I will be in my office without much company, lonely, hoping to catch up on report writing without multiple interruptions. Usually I would take the few days between Christmas and New Year’s, but that was not in the cards this time around. Enjoy your paper-route free days! Happy Holidays!
